List of 5 Band WAZ Holders in South Africa Last updated 2001-08-31 This list is extracted from the official list published by CQ Magazine, the sponsors of the WAZ awards programme. Only five ZS stations have reached the 200 zone level (i.e. all zones confirmed on 10, 15, 20, 40 and 80 m: Date 200 150 1983-11-08 ZS5LB 67 237 Bert is retired near Durban, occasionally active. 1988-02-25 ZS5BK 170 451 Bill died several years ago. 1989-02-18 ZS5MY 211 534 Franz spent time as 3DA0BK, now inactive. 1991-08-07 ZS6BCR 325 272 Chris is now ZS6EZ. 1994-02-11 ZS4TX 372 882 Bernie is still active from Bloemfontein. The "200" column indicates the order in which stations reached the 200 mark. For example, ZS5LB was the 67th person to reach 200 zones. The "150" column indicates certificate numbers, allocated when 150 zones are reached. As of 2000-08, 537 stations world-wide had reached the highest level (200). A total of 1202 stations had reached the entry level of 150. In South Africa, apart from the five stations listed above, only ZS6KR has reached the entry level. His certificate is now endorsed for 189 zones, and is number 1054. The rumour mill indicates that ZS6WB is ready to apply, with 184 zones in hand.
